Between a hectic few months both with activities and just plain old keeping up with a toddler. Although each day brings with it 1,000 new memories, we photo-document fewer and fewer. Most camera shutter speeds aren’t fast enough to keep up with Landon; he’s frequently just a blur in the image.

One highlight was taking him to a pumpkin patch in October. Landon was less intrigued with the pumpkins and more intrigued with the wagon to pull them in and of course with the goats.

Landon’s communication continues to improve. He greets people and waves and says bye. He asks for “nanas” (bananas), “more,” “no,” and has been known to say “cheese” and “Lexi.” Mama, Dada and Papa are other frequent words, as is “baba.” Landon also says “baby” a lot, we think in reference to a couple baby boys at daycare.

We had a quiet Thanksgiving. Although we’d intended to travel to Ohio to spend a long weekend with family, we opted to stay home thanks to a rough recovery from my most recent hip surgery. Brian grilled lamb and roasted cauliflower and we also had saag paneer. Best Thanksgiving meal I’ve ever had! (I don’t care for traditional Thanksgiving fare.)

Up next on the agenda: Christmas season!

More photos and videos from recent months:

I got to take a long weekend trip to Chicago to reunite with human and fur friends alike. I didn’t get any photos with human friends, but got a lovely ride on Drifter, the horse I rode for years when I lived out there. His human family is so incredibly kind — lovely to have seen both! Landon also rode a horse that morning at a friend’s house. He also sleeps with a horse and when he used a pacifier, it was attached to a horse. Raising him right!
