October’s been zipping along with lots of fall activities and more to come. One weekend we had Harmony’s Sleepy Hollow Festival, Zelienople’s Fall Festival and the new fire station open house all in one day! We’ve also enjoyed numerous fall hikes, a evening around a neighbor’s campfire, family time, applesauce making, leaf jumping, local pumpkin patch and a fall event at Landon’s school. I even caught a glimpse of the Northern Lights from our yard!

Pumpkin carving and seed roasting, multiple trick-or-treats and Halloween parties will fill the next week. Gobs of fun, overstimulation and sugar highs await, with the inevitable subsequent crashes following. As for me, I look forward to pirating a few Reese’s peanut butter pumpkins from their Halloween hauls. Reese’s cups are great, but the seasonal pumpkins, Christmas trees and eggs have a far superior peanut butter to chocolate ratio.
