This post’s title says it all: 3-year-olds are busy. Very busy. And they have an unending supply of energy, which I’d very much like to tap into myself.

Cliche tells us a picture is worth 1,000 words. So consider this photo post a small book’s worth of words.

Landon wants to be just like Daddy. He loves watching Brian mow the lawn (tractor!) and is a good errand companion. We went to the grocery store recently and Brian and I turned away for a moment. When we look at the cart again, Landon was loading jars and jars of pickles into the cart! We did need pickles, but not half the shelf. We managed to leave with only one jar of pickles. Landon, of course, had to push the cart, too.

He also had his first fishing experience. Although he enjoyed it, Landon’s attention span is pretty short so it was a quick activity. Canoeing, however, was a success! I’m eager to get him back out on the water this summer.

We’ve spent much of the summer outside. We joined the local pool this year and just love it. The kiddie area is so fun with a little slide and fountains. Landon also likes going in the deeper end (4-5 feet) where he bobs wearing his floatie, wants us to throw him, wants to sit on the big floating turtle in the pool and wants to jump in. He’s even doing a wonderful job practicing kicking and moving his arms in a swimming motion! He’s always loved being in water and playing with it.

We also went to a Greek festival. There are several great ones around here! Landon ate his lamb like a good Greek boy and then a Greek band started. Landon started dancing (with a plastic spoon) and befriended another little boy, and they danced together. A Post-Gazette photographer took some photos, but didn’t file them so unfortunately we never got to see them. Landon also climbed up on chairs at a few other tables to sit with strangers, and at one point wandered to a table closer to the band and struck up a conversation with an older lady.

Our handsome boy.
