Landon is learning how to tell stories. One morning while driving into his sitter’s house, he told me, “Once upon a time, there was a girl and a boy in a car. And [something I couldn’t understand]. The end.”

He also likes to bring Neigh (his stuffed horse) in the car each morning. The first morning he did so, we have a conversaton about Neigh needing to stay in the car and not go into Ms. Brenda’s. “Do you understand Neigh needs to stay in the car, Landon?” I asked. After much debate, he replied, “Yes.” Now, every single morning Landon asks me: “Mommy, you understand Neigh needs to stay in the car?”

Landon’s also pushing his boundaries a bit and learning how much he can assert himself. (It’s not as much as he’s trying to.) A byproduct of this is that Landon can be rather bossy. This morning while he put Neigh aside while he was getting out of the car he was very bothered by Neigh because Neigh was “bossing him around.”

Every night while Brian is tucking Landon in upstairs, Landon yells from his room, “I love you Mommmmmy!” It’s heart melting every. single time.

We recently had a rare quiet-ish moment on the weekend where we both sat on the sofa to read our books. Quiet-ish, because of course Landon can’t do anything quietly. He narrated the pages of his Sesame Street Bus story to me, and was surprisingly accurate! (Check out my Goodreads account if you’re curious what I’m reading. It’s always a lot!)

One day he was playing with his tool bench outside, looked at me and said, “I have important things to do!” He also took his “finoculars” outside to look for the Gruffalo. (No one tell him he was looking through the wrong end!)

Landon also loves to help, and is actually getting to be quite helpful! He pushes the laundry basket from our room to the laundry room and loves throwing clothes in the washer and dryer. Sometimes he even asks to do laundry. He also helps unload the dishwasher and puts his plates and bowls back in the cupboard. He even vacuumed our entryway one day. He has such a helpful, giving spirit.
