Landon had an extended Easter celebration this year. Our church, St. Peter’s Reformed Church in Zelienople, “egged” our house the day before Palm Sunday by delivering and “hiding” 12 plastic eggs in our yard. Landon loved collecting and opening them.

The week before Easter, he had a fun Easter party at his sitter’s house with his buddies, where had another Easter egg hunt, colored, danced while shaking his “bunny tail” and watched the Peter Rabbit movie. He also got to search for an Easter basket at Granny and Papa’s house, which included some fun art supplies and Easter window clings that adorn our sliding door! The weekend after Easter had fun baskets from Brian’s mother and her family.

Easter weekend we were fortunate enough to visit family in Ohio. It was the first time all 9 of us had been in the same space in close to two years. It was a lovely time, especially watching the cousins play together. Landon’s cousins on that side are ages 10 and 12 and both so incredibly sweet with Landon, and he just adores them. We look forward to more time together now that we’re vaccinated and the warm weather is approaching!

He also got to go for a super fun Easter egg hunt on the same part of the property where Brian and I were married! We knew we wanted to be parents eventually, but I don’t think either of us fathomed just what was to come with our superstar of a child.

We had a terrible time getting home thanks to a later-than-planned departure and a horrific traffic jam en route. Landon’s bedtime is around 7:45 and as we were still driving up the highway at 8 p.m. he ever so sweetly asked, “Are we going to eat dinner tonight?” The poor guy must have been starving and really thought we just forgot to eat. (Of course by the time we got home and got food on his plate, he was so tired he was hyper and couldn’t even concentrate on eating his scrambled egg.)

Easter also coincides nicely with Brian’s and Landon’s birthdays (April 6 and April 16, respectively). We celebrated both of their birthdays in Ohio and will have various family celebrations through the rest of the month. Below: Landon helps Brian open his new hose.

Tractor time!
