One of our favorite parts of living in Fombell is access to the local dairy, Windy Ridge. Their milk is delicious, ice cream even better and the people who make it all happen are some of the most genuinely friendly folks around. We’ve been going to MilkFest for the past three years, an annual event where they open the farm for hay rides, barn tours, fun games and a lot of kid activities. Our first year I wasn’t even pregnant yet. Last year, Landon was only two months old and slept against me in his baby carrier the whole time. This year, though, he got to enjoy it!

My favorite part was the corn box. Instead of sand, they fill it with cow corn. I’ve never been able to play in it before because it’s meant for kids and I couldn’t be the creepy adult. But this year? This year we had a one-year-old to enjoy it with! He wasn’t too sure at first but quickly warmed up and Brian had the gargantuan task of making sure Landon didn’t eat the corn.

Landon also got to meet the cows. He thought they were delightful.

For comparison sake, this was Landon last year on MilkFest day.
