Landon is 9 months old! And what a month it’s been. He celebrated his first Christmas, cut a few more teeth (he’s up to four now — two on top and two on bottom) and, biggest of all, learned how to crawl! He is everywhere now. It’s amazing how many more steps my FitBit registers each day from redirecting him to crawl toward his toys instead of toward power cords or Lexi’s toy basket. Because dog toys are much more interesting than human toys, it turns out.
With his newfound crawling comes a newfound obsession with keeping our floors cleaner. I’ve decided spotless is an impossible goal — after all, we live in the country and have a dog. We have a Roomba, though, and a pretty good normal vacuum and between those two we get most nasty stuff off the floor.
He’s also eating monstrous amounts of formula and solids. I’ve lost track of what all he eats, but it includes: venison, beef, chicken, lentils, cantaloupe, banana, pear, carrot, sweet potato, butternut squash, pea, green bean, zucchini and beets. He always rejects avocado so I’ll just use the rest of that puree for Brian’s and my purposes.
One of his newest tricks is bouncing hard in his ExerSaucer. Landon definitely likes to entertain because the more we smile and he sees us smiling, the more he smiles.
At his 9-month checkup he weighed about 22 pounds and was 29 1/2 inches long, putting him in the 87th percentile for weight and height. That’s quite the feat especially since he was seven weeks early and only 4 pounds, 9 ounces and 18 1/2 inches long when he was born!
In non-baby news, I started a new job! A former colleague messaged me in December asking if she could recommend me for the senior editor position with Window & Door magazine, owned by the National Glass Association. After a phone interview and office interview at NGA’s headquarters outside of Washington, D.C., they extended an offer that I accepted.
I’ll still be working at home, although this job will necessitate a bit more travel than my previous two positions. I already have an upcoming trip to Vegas, which I think will be my 14th time there. I’m glad to be back in the residential construction space and am eager to learn more about the fenestration industry and jump in.
