When Landon came home from the NICU, I spent a couple months thinking he’d never be a happy baby. If he was awake, he was crying. I think some of that was from not being ready to be in this big world yet, but a lot of it was due to his hernias because after they were repaired he was a whole new baby. He yelled less, ate better, smiled more and started babbling.

Fortunately one of his happiest times is in the morning after he wakes up and eats breakfast. (Loves breakfast … just like his mama!) Regardless of the time of day, however, he’s quite the photogenic little man. When I drop him off at childcare, whether it be with the woman we use in the neighboring town or with my mom, he almost always has a smile for them.

Landon has always been a mover. I started feeling him move right around Christmas — so before we even knew for sure he was a he — and he hasn’t stopped since. I suspect we’ll be getting more and more blurred limb photos. He has places to go.

This moment melted me into a giant puddle of emotion: Landon was sitting in his chair in the kitchen while Brian was getting ready for work. I walked into the kitchen, where Landon was very quiet but had a very stoic expression. As soon as he looked up and saw me, he started smiling and squealing.

Love those big grins!
